GINGERBREAD

Welcome back everyone.


It’s been a while but now I am back with a new design by my friend Anne-Marie Van Dijk and an old recipe from my family.


It is one of my favourite recipes for the coming winter: The gingerbread 

Since I am pregnant with my second baby I crave gingerbread a lot. And I believe the spices are very nurturing for me in my current state.


Benefits of the spices

coriander clears up your skin

aniseed improves digestion

cinnamon has anti-inflammatory properties 

clove better digestion

ginger helps against nausea and cramps


So let’s get started…


Ingredients

  • 250g cane sugar

  • 2.5dl Almond milk (or any other milk you like)

  • 2 Tbsp rapeseed or olive oil

  • 1 Tbsp Raw Cacao Powder

  • 1 Pack a 25g of Gingerbread Mix (it’s a mix of coriander, aniseed, cinnamon, clove and ginger)

  • 250g spelt flour

  • 1/2 pack of baking powder

How to do


Put all the ingredients together in a bowl and stir them well until you have a smooth and creamy dough. Then use a round baking pan of 28 cm and fill the pan with the delicious dough.


Baking - 20 minutes -  200° Celsius Degrees


Decoration


I usually prefer the cake pure but you can decorate the cake with your kids and enjoy a creative moment together like I did with my little artist and son Gion Luis.
